Lower Kings with Travis Mason Western Sierra in was created by marmot-flyfisher
Lower Kings River in February
Travis Mason will lead a trip to the lower portion of the Kings River for some wonderful Western Sierra winter fishing on February 18 &19. Deep Creek Fly Fisher’s with the help from Fred Ramirez of Central Sierra Fly Fishing Adventures will be taking over the Lower Kings River. If you have not tried your hand on this fishery you will be in for a treat.
Cost of the class will be $50 for a day and a half of fishing. We need only 10 but more are always welcome for this great class. Fred is a great guide for this area of the Sierra’s. Travis will sign you up and collect funds at our January meeting.
Travis has also set-up lodging at Wonder Valley Ranch Resort outside Sanger, close to the Kings River.

:) February is a tough month, but a weekend with Fred Ramirez advising is worth the trip ! He is a hero in my mind: I observed him save the cookies of a hypothermic flyfisher at Edison Lake (no paramedic help there) by stripping down to his skivvies and dressing the poor fellow in his own dry clothes, then staying with him for an hour on a warm sunny boulder until he stopped shivering! When's the last time you ever saw a guide willing to do this ? Tenkara is also one of his sidelines, and he combines this technique with Czech nymphing...RAP
